Berlin celebrates United Arab Emirates with cinema and food thanks to Travelling Film Festival

Second day of Travelling Film Festival and second adventure around the world at the cinema Il Kino (Nansenstr. 22) in the district of Neukölln. On 27th November you will discover the Middle East with the United Arab Emirates. At 7 p.m. we will begin with the welcome greeting from the Emirates Ambassador (or his delegate) and we will watch a promotional video about the country. The event goes on with the screening of the comedy Rashid and Rajab, directed by Mohammed Saeed Harib, in the original version with English subtitles. In conclusion we will taste the Arabic Finger Food based on Dates, Hummus, Kabsa, Harees and Shawerma. You will find informative material to learn more about this beautiful and ultra-modern nation. Emirates Day: the plot of Rashid and Rajab and the menu of the typical dinner

Rashid and Rajab is a film of 2019, fruit of the imagination of the register Mohammed Saeed Harib. Through misadventures and laughs it tells the story of the protagonists, Rashid and Rajad, a rich business man and an Egyptian delivery man, who as a result of a strange car accident switch their bodies. Endless attempts to come back to their bodies in an eccentric contest, they gain a different perspective into each other’s lives. The register Mohammed Saeed Harib, born in Dubai, has won the Muhr Award 2007 as Best Emirati Talent at the Dubai International Festival. His production includes theatre and animation. He has written and directed the cartoon series Freej, in addition to the biggest theatrical production of the UAE, that is Freej Folklore. After the film we will enjoy Arabic food prepared by Tiba Restaurant. As main dishes you can eat Harees, porridge with wheat and meat, and Kabsa, rice with meat, vegetables and spices, Bateel Dates and Shawerma, meat wrapped in Arabic bread, tomatoes and garlic sauce, commonly known as…Kebab! We will taste a typical and traditional Arabic menu, chosen directly by the Embassy.

Travelling Film Festival, 2019 edition

Travelling Film Festival was born in 2018 to promote the knowledge, the habits and the traditions of some countries around the world without leaving Berlin, through cinema and food. In its second edition Travelling Film Festival will begin on 26th November and it will end on 1st December at the cinema Il Kino. Every day will be dedicated to the discovery of a special country. This year we begin the exploration with Armenia, then passing through United Arab Emirates, Croatia, Basilicata, Serbia, up to Georgia. The event will begin at 7 p.m. with the presentation of the nation of the day, then it will continue with the Emirates film screening (in the original version with English subtitles), and at the end it will conclude with a dinner with typical dishes. It’s organized by Berlin Italian Communication, Berlino Magazine, in collaboration with the Embassy of Armenia, Croatia, United Arab Emirates, Basilicata, Serbia and Georgia and powered by From A to B, a travel company that helps travellers to find the journey that fits their needs, matching trains, flights, buses and carpooling, and to find and book the cheapest, fastest or most environmentally-friendly option for them.
