The tastiest Instagram contest of the year is taking you to Florence and also giving you the chance to win amazing and relaxing prizes…

The 72 hrs True Italian Food Festival is about to start and True Italian is launching the now traditional Instagram photo contest, connecting gastronomy and travels once again. In fact, for the whole duration of the event, the best picture taken is gonna be selected as the lucky winner of two stays for 2 people in two different wonderful hotels in the centre of Hamburg, one including breakfast and a special dinner. But it ain’t all… There is also the chance to win a massage for two people and the entry in two beautiful spas in Berlin.

Why a stay in Hamburg?

Hamburg is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany and in North Europe. Just a few hours away by train or bus from Berlin, Hamburg is the perfect destination for a weekend away from the capital. The Speicherstadt is Hamburg’s symbolic neighbourhood. The name, when translating it, simply means “city of the warehouses”, heritage from the late 1800 when the engineer Franzi Andreas Meyer was commissioned the construction of 17 red brickwork buildings, between seven and eight meters high, leaning on pillars of wood, like ancient stilts. This city inside the city was necessary to reach customs arrangements with what at the time was the German Empire, of which Hamburg constituted an independent reality. With the time the function of stock houses was lost, and the zone has become one of the most exclusive in the whole city, base not only of the new Elbphilarmonie but also of luxury residences and high-level commercial activities. Exactly in this frame are the two hotels of our contest: the AMERON Hamburg Hotel Speicherstadt and the PIERDREI Hotel HafenCity Hamburg.

The Instagram contest: how to participate

Now that we have capture your attention, here are the rules for the contest: from September 23rd until the 26th, visit one of the 30 participating restaurants (here the fill list) and order the specialty of the 72 hrs True Italian Food Festival. Take a picture of the dish or of someone eating it, use your creativity, and publish it on your personal profile before Saturday, September 26th at 11 PM. Remember that all the stories will not be considered. These are the rules for the picture publication in order to be admitted to the contest:

• tag the profile of @trueitalianfood in the picture
• put the hashtag #72hrstrueitalian in the description
• localize the post in the restaurant in which you took the picture (of course, it must be one of the restaurants participating in the event).

The Instagram contest: how to win

Our special jury is made up of three people: Andrea D’Addio (Berlino Magazine director), Sara Proserpio (our graphic designer) and Anna Agliardi (our photographer). First of all, they will select the 10 most original and creative pictures among all (it’s not a contest for professional photographers, so creativity will be very important). Second of all, on Monday, September 28th, these 10 photos will be posted on @trueitalianfood Insta-stories, where the audience will be able to vote the best three through a poll. Only after the canonical 24h duration of the stories, we will announce and reach out the contest winners. The most liked picture wins the first prize and the other following.

The prizes

As already mentioned, the first prize is a one-night stay for two people in the wonderful hotel AMERON Hamburg Hotel Speicherstadt in Hamburg. Included is also breakfast and a dinner for two in the hotel’s restaurant, Cantinetta.

The second prize is also a one-night stay for two people in the Speicherstadt in Hamburg, this time at the beautiful PIERDREI Hotel HafenCity Hamburg.

The third prize is a 60 minutes-massage and entry for two people in the amazing spa of the Hotel de Rome in Berlin Mitte.

The fourth and last prize is the day ticket for two people for another fantastic spa in Berlin, Vabali.

72 hrs True Italian Food Festival, how the event works

Homemade ravioli stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella in gorgonzola sauce with parmesan, pecorino from Abruzzo and emmental with a sprinkling of walnuts and truffle, Saltimbocca alla romana (small veal roulade with prosciutto and sage filling), sarde in saor (sweet and sour sardines), pappardelle with wild boar ragout and truffle oil, caponata  (sweet and sour aubergine dish from Sicily) with almonds and basil, parmigiana, polenta balls with bagna cauda, sweet potatoes glazed with Teriyaki sauce and roasted guanciale (cheeck lard), selection of Italian cold cuts and cheese with homemade tigelle (typical Italian thin round shaped bread), focaccia filled with porchetta from Ariccia, Roman pinsa… These are just some of the specialties that you can taste together with a drink (Aperol Spritz or glass of wine depending on the place) for only 8€ from Wednesday, September 23rd until Saturday, September 26th, in 30 selected Italian restaurants in Berlin: this is the fifth edition of the 72 hrs True Italian Food Festival.
