In fact, for the whole duration of the Event, the best specialty picture taken in Berlin and Hamburg is gonna be selected as the lucky winner of a 2-nights-stay for 2 people in the Plus Hotel in Florence. Florence: the capital of the Renaissance

Imagin a magical night, wandering for the streets of this historical city. The lights are soft and art is all around you. Florence is one of the most famouse cities of the Italian Tuscany region. Well known for its great artistic heritage, it has hosted artists of the caliber of Botticelli and Brunelleschi. The Uffizzi gallery, Pitti palace, Boboli gardens are just a few of the beautiful places that you can visit during your stay in Florence.

The Instagram contest: how to participate

Now that we have capture your attention, here are the rules for the contest: from September 18th until the 21st, visit one of the 92 participating restaurants (55 in Berlin and 37 in Hamburg) and order the specialty of the 72 hrs True Italian Food Festival. Take a picture of the dish or of someone eating it, use your creativity, and publish it on your personal profile before Saturday, September 21st at 11 PM. Remember that all the stories will not be considered. These are the rules for the picture publication in order to be admitted to the contest:

tag the profile of @trueitalianfood in the picture
put the hashtag #72hrstrueitalian in the description
localize the post in the restaurant in which you took the picture (of course, it must be one of the 92 restaurants participating in the event).

How to win the contest

Our special jury is made up of three people: Andrea D’Addio (Berlino Magazine director), Sara Proserpio (our graphic designer) and Anna Agliardi (our photographer). First of all, they will select the 10 most original and creative pictures among all, 5 from the Berlin specialties and 5 from the Hamburg specialties. Second of all, on Monday, September 23rd, these 10 photos will be posted on @trueitalianfood Insta-stories, where the audience will be able to vote the best three through a poll. Only after the canonical 24h duration of the stories, we will announce and reach out the contest winners. The most liked picture wins the first prize and the other following. In the event of a tie, the first posted picture will be selected as the winner.

The prizes

As already announced, the first prize in the contest is a 2-nights-stay for 2 people in the Plus Hotel in Florence. The beautiful hotel is just some minutes walking from the central station Santa Maria Novella and perfects to visit Florence’s greatest attractions. The winner can decide the dates of this stay according to the hotel’s availability. The flight is not included.

The second prize includes a dinner for two people in one of the restaurants of the True Italian network. If the winner of the second prize is from Berlin the dinner will be offered by a Berlin restaurant. On the other side, if the winner is from Hamburg the dinner will be offered by a Hamburg restaurant. The same for the third prize: an aperitivo (glass of wine or Spritz with some Italian specialties) for two people.

Monica from Damettto Nudeln is offering a dinner based on freshly homemade pasta for two people of the value of 48€.

72 hrs True Italian Food Festival: Let’s repeat how it works

Not only in Berlin: after three amazing editions (more than 6.000 participants in 2018), the 72 hrs True Italian Food Festival will take place simultaneously and for the first time also in Hamburg. For 72 hours, starting from Wednesday 18th from 5 pm until Saturday 21st September, 92 of the best Italian restaurants, pizzerias, wine bars and cafés in Berlin and Hamburg, are offering some selected regional specialties of the Italian culinary tradition together with a drink for just 7€. Culurgiones, turnip tops, baccalà mantecato Venetian style, sarde in saor, sfincione, fried pizza, filled cappelletti in saffron sauce, porchetta, bagna càuda and tigelle are just some the dishes that are being offered during the event. The fixed price of 7€, the same for any place you go, includes, besides food, also an Aperol Spritz or a Campari Amalfi (or, in the places that can’t serve Spritz, a glass of wine, a beer or a soft drink). The event’s goal is to spread the true Italian culinary culture abroad.
