World Press Photo 2019, tra i finalisti anche una bellissima foto al Tiergarten di Berlino

La foto berlinese giunge all’ultimo atto del World Press Photo 2019

Annunciati ufficialmente i finalisti del World Press Photo 2019, giunto quest’anno alla 62esima edizione. Tra le varie foto ne troviamo una che è stata scattata proprio a Berlino all’interno del Tiegarten, dove viene raffigurata una coppia omosessuale seduta e racchiusa in un abbraccio amoroso. La foto è stata scattata dalla fotografa egiziana Eba Khamis.

La storia dietro alla fotografia scattata al Tiergarten

I due uomini ritratti all’interno della foto sono Jochen di 71 anni e Mohamed di 21, una coppia che ormai si frequenta da circa 19 mesi. Jochen si è innamorato di Mohamed (anche se si dice che questo non è il suo vero nome) in un periodo in cui il ragazzo si prostituiva proprio all’interno del parco, motivo per cui questa foto acquisisce un valore maggiore dal punto di vista giornalistico, poichè racconta il fenomeno dell’immigrazione insieme a quello della prostituzione consenziente, che in Germania sono legale. Una tematica che ha colpito sicuramente la giuria del World Press Photo, che ha deciso di premiarla e inserirla tra le possibili candidate al premio finale.

I finalisti italiani e tedeschi al World Press Photo 2019

C’è anche tanta Italia al World Press Photo 2019, dove a distinguersi sono stati in tre: Marco Gualazzini, Lorenzo Tugnoli e Daniele Volpe, mentre per quanto riguarda i tedeschi abbiamo Thomas P. Peschak e Ingo Arndt. La foto che invece è stata scattata a Berlino sarà visibile direttamente alla Willy Brandt Haus proprio nella capitale tedesca. Come lo scorso anno, le foto che riescono ad arrivare in finale vengono presentate una per una, in modo che ognuno abbia modo di osservarle con calma e comprenderne il valore e il significato a prescindere da chi sarà il vincitore.

Cos’è il World Press Photo 2019

Il World Press Photo 2019 è la competizione di fotogiornalismo più importante al mondo, dove ogni anno una grande quantità di fotografi propone le proprie fotografie da valutare. La gara è stata inaugurata nel 1955 dall’omonima fondazione olandese, che quest’anno ha presentato una novità ulteriore: il World Press Photo Story of the Year, dove nel medesimo contesto viene premiato il fotografo “la cui creatività visiva e abilità hanno prodotto una storia con eccellenti editing e sequenza fotografici, su un grande evento o una questione di rilevanza giornalistica del 2018”.
