Italian Street Food Festival: the location

A wide open air location, near the river with many many seats and a small beach near the water, all of this situated close to the Treptower Park S-Bahn station. These are some of the Osthafen features, the vibrant location that is hosting the event for the second consecutive year. An outdoor space that offers a beautiful panorama: the Spree river, shining in the hot Berlin’s summer days of June. You can watch the video down below with some frames of last year’s.

The Italian Street Food Tradition

The great variety of street food is definitely one of the most popular aspects of Italian gastronomic tradition. Travelling all around Italy, you can taste traditional and genuine products that captivate your five senses: everybody knows that the eyes are the first thing that makes you want to taste food. One of Italy’s major wealth is the cuisine: recipes that are inspired by the tradition of the past, a fusion of customs that will be generously proposed at the Italian Street Food Festival. An event that allows non-Italians to know the best of Italy and makes Italians feel at home in Berlin, even if just for a while.

The True Italian Project

The True Italian project is a network that has the goal to promote and preserve all the restaurants, premises and food trucks that support the authentic Italian culinary tradition. They will be able to obtain the brand (registered in the Deutsches Patent und Markenamt office, one of German marks and patents) so that they will become “recognizable”. Furthermore, True Italian partners adhere to a series of initiatives, made to promote the image of the business, the offered products and last but not least the “Italia” brand. The idea was invented and is still carried out by the Berlin Italian Communication. The True Italian’s premises are represented by the mastery and the genius of restaurant owners that are able to prepare the best Italian dishes with love and patience. The ones that choose to join the True Italian brand, regardless of nationality, show a peculiar approach to food. An approach that recognizes the high quality of ingredients, the way in which they combine in a dish and their history. A slow art of cuisine, that is in contrast with the fast one, in which food is mere nourishment. And you? Which one would you prefer?
